As we explore this unique enclave we will meet the locals, check bread stores, pastry shops, and the Arthur Ave Market (circa 1940) while tasting along the way. Stops include the Arthur Ave Market with its cheese maker, cigar rollers, and the Bronx Beer Hall. Learn the history and hear how NYC’s “real Little Italy” in the Bronx came to be. On our way to Arthur Ave you will learn about Fordham University, Bronx resident Edgar Allen Poe, the New York Botanical Gardens and the New York Zoological Society. Tour meets at Grand Central Terminal and we will take Metro North RR to Fordham Rd. – It is a 20 minute ride and please purchase tickets before meeting the group.
