WHAT IS #TOURYOUROWNCITY?
Tour Your Own City is an initiative of the Guides Association of New York City (GANYC) to promote tours for New York-area residents in the wake of COVID-19. It is open to GANYC member guides for free, and to non-member guides and tour operators for a fee. See below for more information on how to sign up.
GANYC MEMBER GUIDES
You are automatically registered and ready to start uploading tours to the site. You should have received a link to the tour uploading form in an e-mail. You can also find the link posted on the Announcements Page.
If you are not a member of GANYC, there is a one-time fee of $35 to upload your tours to Tour Your Own City through October 31, 2020. This is open to tour guides who lead their own tours and never or only occasionally hire other guides to lead tours. Only licensed NYC tour guides are eligible. If you apply for GANYC membership within 3 months of being accepted to participate in Tour Your Own City, your initiation fee for GANYC membership will be waived. For more on the benefits of becoming a member of GANYC and how to apply for GANYC membership, click here.
If you are a tour operator that regularly hires tour guides to run your tours, there is a one-time fee of $95 to upload your tours to Tour Your Own City through October 31, 2020. This is open to tour operators that hire multiple guides to lead tours in New York. To qualify, you must only hire tour guides licensed by the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs.
