June may traditionally be Pride Month but, really, it’s never not Gay Pride in NYC! Central Park might not spring to mind when thinking about LGBTQ Pride in the city. However, the Park has not only played a significant role in LGBTQ culture, but it also benefitted from the creativity of queer artists who are mostly unknown to us in the 21st century. Take a stroll through the park to explore LGBTQ contributions and highlight the role of the Park in the evolution of Gay Culture in NYC. Some locations you’ll see are the Sheep Meadow, Bethesda Terrace, the Ramble, Great Lawn. Also learn about two talented gay men who came to the aid of the park when it was at one of its lowest points.
