Let me show you where I lived for 10 years, Roosevelt Island. A unique two-mile-long island considered part of Manhattan wedged between Manhattan and Queens. Travel by a red tram to get awesome aerial views of Manhattan’s Eastside and skyline and meet me on the Island. A place that New Yorkers and visitors have never step for on. Some people think it is haunted, you be the judge. Roosevelt Island has been known as Welfare Island, Blackwell Island, for its Smallpox ruins, hospitals, asylums and more. We will see the recently built FDR Freedom Park & Cornell Center, FDNY Special Services Unit and smallpox hospital. A couple of surprise stops may be included such as visiting the community garden on the island where they are composting (subject to change without notice).
